For making Hidden Wire Shelf Brackets

I needed about 40 of these Hidden Wire Shelf Brackets to retrofit bookshelves around my home. I couldn't find them anywhere so I decided to make them myself. This wire is perfect for this purpose. The picture shows the original device above and the self-made device below. The wire is 12 gauge in standard gauge, not 12 gauge in US gauge. This means it measures 0.102 inches or 2.59mm (between 3/32m and 7/64m) which is almost 10 gauge AWG (credit to C. MacPhail in review for posting the specs). According to Google, that means it can most likely handle 1,200 pounds, but I'd do some testing before relying on it to that extent. I had to use an electric drill and a vise to straighten the wire (thanks YouTube!). A "bender" made from pieces of wood and bolts (thanks Instructables!) After a few failed attempts I dialed everything in and terminated the wires. sale.figures.https://www.amazon.com/Platte-River-12-pack-Hardware-Support/dp/B008R9KSM6 Look for "invisible" or "shelf-hidden" support wires. The prices seem quite high. So if you have the tools at home to make them yourself, making them yourself might be a viable option.
