I've always used plastic capes for waterproofing, but they can tear or break easily. This is a lightweight long cloak that prevents hair from falling onto legs or feet. Hair also falls out immediately. A wide range of fasteners allows you to fit the neck tightly without squeezing it, which prevents short hair from entering the back. It is also water-repellent and keeps the clothing underneath dry. I am very happy with this purchase.
