Bought this scratching post for our 3 cats, 2 of which are large Maine Coon crossbreeds weighing about 15 pounds each. All three cats like the tree, they play and sleep on it. The assembly was done independently and quite quickly - the instructions consisted of illustrations with clearly marked details. Everything you need to assemble the Christmas tree is included in the box. We've only had this tree for a few days so I can't comment on its longevity, but for now it seems strong enough for all of our cats to keep using it at the same time. The strap that attaches the wood to the wall looks strong enough to get the job done if needed, but I don't think we need to use it. So far so good quality, my cats are strong and all have claws so I'll probably have to replace the ropes on the scratching posts at some point. However, the product is what it appears to be and quite satisfactory for the money. My only complaint would be that after just a few days I ended up paying about $30 more than the item listed, but that's more down to the seller than the item itself.
