Good coverage - does its job - the keyboard is very, very good.

I bought this keyboard case to ease the transition from a full-fledged laptop to an iPad and to rely more on cloud computing for my portable computing needs. This keyboard is excellent, although I have to admit it took me a while to get used to my very large hands, but it wasn't too difficult. My typing is almost back to my usual (mediocre) 80 wpm. The case is great and protects my iPad very well. It is very light (compared to my MacBook Pro) and much more comfortable to use when traveling (in flight and on the go so far). While the protection was excellent and served its purpose, I'm hoping to purchase another top case to fit the iPad - during my trip I fell on my back and it hit the ground pretty hard. I took out the iPad and made sure it was ok and didn't notice any small tears around the edges on the part of the case that used to fit the iPad at the time. Despite this, it still fits in the case and WILL NOT BE DAMAGED by the fall. I only wish I had dropped it so soon. To address some of the concerns raised - a drop of 24 inches is not negligible. If only the case bears the brunt of the fall and the iPad is not damaged, then the case has done its job. The hinge has a loose feelβ€”it's less of a hinge and more of a clip that attaches from the hinge to the top of the iPad. Case. The hinge itself (on mine at least) is incredibly solid, and for the past week or two I've used my iPad in a different case and kept the keyboard separate so I can continue to use it as a computer. Everything is fine and the loop (as I said) is pretty strong. The clip that attaches to the top seems a little loose, but don't worry - my keyboard and the top half of the case never separated until I pressed the silver release button. Although my lid was cracked, I have continued to use it and my iPad shows no wear/damage due to looser case attachment (loose due to cracks made BY MY MISTAKE). I wouldn't say the plastic is brittle - it's just not 100% impact resistant - and in that sense the case did the job and protected my iPad and I haven't had any dents, scratches or cracked/broken screen glass. .I think this keyboard is great. The backlight/keyboard colors are cool, but it's not a feature I rely on unless I'm in a dark room trying to type. The great thing is that the battery lasts so long on a single charge, and when connected to my iPad, my iPad shows how much power the keyboard battery has left. I've charged my keyboard probably twice in the last month, and it really only took me the first time to use it - the second time I charged it was before I realized the battery status was included in the reports on the iPad was. Things I would change: Adding a command key on the right side of the keyboard (instead of an LED backlight on/off button). This is a really great keyboard and case, worth every penny.
