First, I only have an upper prosthesis. My bottom is partial and stays in place with no glue. I dread the day I lose my lower abutment teeth. I have tried every denture adhesive (including pads, powders and creams) that I could find in my local American market. Secure Dental Cream is not sold at any store near where I live or where I travel regularly. No other cream has satisfied me. Most of them hold the prosthesis in place until you need to eat, and then everything starts moving. I tried Secure based on the reviews I found here on Revain. This product works way, way better than anything I've used. I have never experienced the burning described by other users. I have found that it takes a lot of preparation to get good results. The prosthesis must be clean and completely dry. Determining the amount to use is an experiment in itself. I probably use a little more than the average user, but I find this works for me. I APPLY the cream to the prosthesis with my fingertip. I doubt you're familiar with that term, but you can buy these devices from AMAZON. The crib is a one finger latex glove. Without using something like this to apply the cream, you'll spend more time brushing your fingers than brushing your teeth. THIS MATERIAL WITH EVERYTHING. With the help of a clam shell, I cover the entire surface with cream. This ensures that 100% of the surface that comes in contact with the palate sticks to something and you don't have to bet on it spreading properly. I also try to dry the inside of my mouth before putting the dentures in my mouth (yes, really). I also don't just bite after fitting the prosthesis. What I'm really trying to do is push and squeeze the entire surface, including the front, toward the gums to get full contact. You can really feel the air and moisture escaping as you do this. And after all that, yes. not eating or drinking for a long time. I usually leave my dentures in place for 12-13 hours and after all that time it's always difficult to remove them. I have often found that if a filling fails and liquid or air gets under the prosthesis, it will reseal itself. Removing cream from a denture after use can also be a daunting task, but it's worth it if you don't have to think about your dentures all day. Sorry to be wordy but I know this is important to those of us unfortunate enough to have a product like this. Hope this works for you.
