There is an auto dim function, a button on the bottom of the base, but I prefer to control the dimming myself. When you press the one-touch button, it turns on, press for 30 seconds to change color / turn off the light, press and hold to adjust brightness, and after at least 30 seconds turned on without any action, the next touch turns off the lamp. My cousin liked it so much that she ended up buying one to use when getting her nails done and reading at school. Night. Simple, modern design, portable and enough adjustments to meet your lighting needs. Would definitely buy again. I hope they consider replacing the battery so we can extend the runtime, but then again, you can use a portable battery to do the same, it's USB-C btw.
