Review on Fisher Price Code N Learn Kinderbot by Jay Elgouhari

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for 6 year olds!

I wasn't sure if it was age appropriate based on the description and what it says for 3 to 6 year olds. My 6 year old grandson who is new to programming but loves games like minecraft and others is absolutely obsessed with this robot. He loves the fact that he can make him do things and solving instructions is like a puzzle for him. I really can't imagine giving it to him at a much younger age, although "games" involve basic things he already knows like colors and numbers. It requires some attention and the ability to focus on the task to understand this, as well as an ability to understand what the purpose of coding is. It helps a lot that he can read instructions and help. At 3 years old he would certainly enjoy the lights, sounds and activities of Kinderbot but I doubt he would have had the patience to sit down and figure out the coding or wait for mom or dad to stumble upon it too. But at 6 – he hasn't put her off since she got here. He spent quite a bit of time figuring out what to do with it, took it outside to play with it, and even slept with it. I wish they would have made it a little older, say 4-7 years old, with a little more educational value than the colors and shapes, but the coding aspect is definitely a foundation and an important place to start. Great toy with great instructions that are easy to follow.
