I don't know about kids but they LOVE coasters! My parents have very heavy, fragile pottery or stone coasters and I have seen them hide them or keep an eye on them when their grandchildren came to visit. I bought them and now all kids can chew them, throw them, hit anyone with them, and they're practically indestructible! They are light and flexible, but also great as coasters. No fuss and no tears! Then just pop them in the dishwasher when they get uncomfortable.
