Review on ๐Ÿ”† ANDYCINE Monitor Cage with Sunhood for Atomos Ninja V and Atomos Shinobi, Featuring Built-in NATO Rails and HDMI Cable Clamp by Zach Peterson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good value for money

I was hesitant to buy a cage for my Ninja V simply because I didn't want the extra weight but the price of this one was right so I'll keep it short. It's very light and the fit, while not perfect (curves in the corners are tighter than the Ninja), is very, very close to perfect and more than good enough. It feels solid and doesn't block anything, adds countless mounting options, the top and bottom NATO rails are very convenient. It doesn't offer much additional screen protection, but it seems like it will prevent a fall if the monitor lands on its edge, which seems to be the whole point. The HDMI clamp does not show up on the Ninja V in the listing but it fits and works properly on the Ninja, it just needs to be installed with the back side with the M3 screws facing the screen. It doesn't cause any problems as the wing nuts are adjustable and can be easily removed from the screen and the HDMI clip can be attached to the cage in any direction. The HDMI clip also protrudes slightly from the back of the case, providing additional support for SSD drives. All in all, it costs $70.

Pros
  • โ—Removable sun canopy โ—With 4 straps, you can easily attach the foldable sun canopy to the cage. Especially useful in strong sunlight outdoors. Gives you a great high light experience
Cons
  • Nothing here
