I bought three different sets of aluminum luggage tags before trying them. With each pair of aluminum tags, either the tag itself is crumpled due to standard handling, or the cable that holds it to luggage. Broken. These stainless steel luggage tags really stand up to any journey! I bought two and they have clocked almost 50,000 miles together. They have survived multiple international trips and dozens of trips across the country. I use both a tether and strap to attach them to my luggage. I have never been so impressed with a luggage tag. I just bought two more so I don't have to move them between bags of different sizes anymore.
