Review on ProCase Slim Stand Protective Folio Case Smart Cover for iPad Mini 5/4/3/2/1 (2019/2019) - Black by Alex May

I've been wearing this case for my new 5th gen iPad Mini for a little over a month. A good case for the price, but there is still room for improvement. Pros: The material is very comfortable and soft to the touch. This is better quality than other cases I've purchased in the past. It feels good to hold in hand when the case is closed, and there's no risk of it falling because you lose your grip. The corners of the iPad are well protected and completely covered with plastic. The case also does a good job of keeping the iPad flat when the stand is unfolded. I've had cases in the past where it slipped off easily with the slightest movement, causing the stand to collapse. In this case there is no such problem. The lugs are deep and have good grip. Cons: The volume knob is much larger than the iPad Mini 5 (see photo). This leaves a lot of extra room, and my fingers struggle to find the volume buttons during setup - poor design that the manufacturer will hopefully fix. I mainly use my iPad for reading in portrait mode. The problem with this case is that the front cover awkwardly folds back when held (see photo). You must apply constant pressure to keep the lid flush with the back of the iPad. My hand hurts when I have to hold it for a long time. After some wear and tear from daily use, I can see that the corners of the lid wear down over time (see photo), so I estimate the case will last about a year before needing to be replaced. There's no slot for an Apple Pencil, which would be nice but isn't essential for me. Verdict: This case is worth the money, especially compared to other more expensive cases, but the volume slot is too big and the case is uncomfortable to hold in portrait mode for long periods of time. It could be a great case if the manufacturer fixes these two main bugs.
