Everyone has a bunch of electronic wires that they can't identify, whether they're connected to something else or just gathering dust at the bottom of the drawer. I was really fed up with half an hour trying to figure out what was going on every time I disconnected and reconnected my laptop, printer or backup drive so I FINALLY decided to label the cables and chose these guys, that are easy to put on and take off because they rely on Velcro. Now I NEVER pull out the wrong thing! They attach easily and stay in place, although I can imagine situations where they might slip off the cable a bit: so what? I used an ultra-fine permanent marker for labels; I found it bled a little, the pencil could have worked better but it wouldn't have been as legible. They're small, so you can't write a novel, but who needs them? They don't stretch at all but will fit a fairly decent VGA or HDMI cable as well as a much smaller cable as it has a "sticky"" velcro on the side. Very satisfied with my purchase.
