Very easy assembly; The key for me with the pads and lid was to ignore the instructions sent and push the metal into the already placed pads in the lid (instead of pulling out the pad, placing it on the metal and then making the lid). Just a few adjustments by my hand to properly align the finishing hardware. It took 20 minutes to assemble (without unpacking!) Very handy, especially with a stool. I also added some padding to the headrest pillow (will be replaced with either a small down pillow or a memory foam pillow). If necessary (I don't have a need, it's very convenient) I could replace the foam seats. I have a loft apartment and this is a great reading/tv/sleeping chair that suits the kind of openness I'm looking for. Having cats is great because you can wash yourself. Durable, thin, comfortable and affordable - why not :-)
