Low price is not necessarily good quality!

My previous printer suddenly broke and I was in desperate need of a new printer, so I bought this Epson. I have had good luck with Epson in the past and will be the first to admit that I had to do my homework on consumables. I've had this Workforce 2630 for a few months now and I have to say that while the print quality is good, this printer is definitely not worth the money! After the test ink supply ran out, I went to buy new ink cartridges. The people at Epson are crazy! A full set of 4 cartridges, even lower capacity cartridges, cost $40, while extra capacity cartridges cost around $70. I only paid $60 for the printer! Well you gotta do what you gotta do which is why I bought the cartridges! The physical size of these cartridges is negligible! The people at Epson should be ashamed! I'm not opposed to the company making a fair profit, but that's just blackmail. They're holding our money hostage because they know we just bought this printer and won't buy a new one, so we're paying what they want. I would add that aftermarket ink for this printer is as scarce as chicken teeth and if you can find it is just as expensive. The scanning function of this printer is also clumsy. With my old printer I could just import the scan into Photoshop but with this Epson you have to go into the scan utility and save it to a directory before you can import it. While print quality is good for photos too, it doesn't have a dedicated tray for loading photo paper. You need to take out the paper inside, swap the guides, and then load the photo paper. You'll have to make your own decision as to whether this printer is worth the money, but I strongly encourage you to do your homework and check supplies prices before you buy a printer. My next printer will NOT be an Epson!.
