Review on Optimized for SEO: IngenuiTEA Bottom Dispensing Teapot by Adagio Teas by Chad Boho

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Has it been outsourced?

I have bought this product since 2012. Worked great. After a few months, maybe four to six, it was spotted (but still working) and I would get a new one. The last one I bought (as others have pointed out in recent reviews) invariably leaks while the tea is brewing which is quite annoying but I've come to terms with it. Especially when you consider that it seems impossible to buy a working, non-lethal, ordinary kettle. But this last one looked quite brown so I ordered another one which just arrived. I was happy to see it wasn't leaking. BUT. The tea tasted TERRIBLE! It has a strong chemical taste. It is made in Taiwan. I haven't bothered to write down where the previous ones were made, but I suspect that the company that created a product that got a lot of good reviews for Revain decided to increase profits by adding has outsourced its production to a country with a smaller workforce. Cost and less stringent safety standards, like Revere with its classic American kettles. So the new model, although it looks the same, is completely useless and a waste of money. So, Ingenuitea fans, hold on to your old battered models because you're going to have to use them forever. The bad taste goes away, so apparently it can still be used if you're up for anything. But the question arises as to which chemicals caused the bad taste in the first place and whether it was the packaging or the plastic itself. Maybe it would be safer to just not use it, I really don't know.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
