Beautiful mirror, installation problem

I like the look of this mirror, very attractive. It's also very nice to have both a choice of color temperatures and a dimming option. One small thing I don't like about his work is the way the person turns the light on and off. I connected the light so you have to use the power switch on the mirror. The first press turns the light on in bright white mode (my preference). To turn off the light I have to press the button three times to turn it off (cycle through other modes). This is a small problem, but still uncomfortable. The real problem is the installation. First, let me tell you some details I want to know before buying. The entire back of the mirror is flat, with no cutouts or space for a power cord. The cable exits the back of the mirror at the horizontal center about 10 inches from the bottom. The cable is about 9" long and about 18 gauge. The kit includes four 1" mounting screws and drywall anchors (see picture), but they are undersized for this 40 pound mirror in my opinion. To mount, I installed a custom bracket using the top two mounting holes on the mirror, and then another receiving bracket on the wall that attached to the wall studs. This ensures a secure fit and also keeps the mirror off the wall needed for the power cord.

Pros
  • Plug or wall switch: The mirror's unique memory function keeps it in the same state the next time it was opened as it was last closed. Mirrors can be connected with plugs or wire. We recommend using the wall switch to turn on/off the mirror and heater lights.
Cons
  • So far so good
