I mostly use them in cheap USB sockets (which you can buy in most places for a dollar or less each) as night lights around the house. I also take them (and USB plugs) with me when I travel, as I often want the rooms I rent out in other countries to have dimmed lights - two or three of these devices in a room can give the impression of candles. You turn them on by swiping your fingers along the sides, darken or lighten them by holding the end - no moving parts, very cool. I like two different colors of LEDs - they are useful in different places. And the great thing is that they are dimmable. In general they use very sophisticated technology, they are cheap and useful.
