Review on πŸ•— Nylon Release Watch Straps by Archer by Susan Foley

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Excellent construction and materials except for one major flaw

The general opinion is correct: these nylon cords are thick and of good quality. However, one of the main disadvantages of the design is the choice of locking rings made of the same material. Here's why: 1) When making a strap out of nylon, you have to cut it and then fire it to melt and harden the edges to keep the nylon from unraveling out of control, and the end of that strap going through the buckle will not work 2) If fired imperfectly or end damaged, the hardened edges will be sharp like little claws. 3) The sharp edges stick to the retaining rings, which are also made of nylon, making them difficult - if not impossible - to push them all the way through. 4) The sharp edges will also cut through the nylon of the locking rings, which will then uncontrollably unravel, with tiny flint appearing all over the ring. The end of the tape will become rough and cutting over time, so this is inevitable. I strongly recommend Archer to replace the locking rings with steel rings as true NATO belts also use steel for a reason.

Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others
