You have arrived today. I ordered two and they are both well made with no visible cracks. The lids fit loosely, as I expected. To use with any glycerine-based soap, simply place the puck in a bowl and microwave in small increments, maybe ten seconds, until your soap melts and begins to take shape in the bowl. These include soaps such as Col. Conk, VDH and others. I just melted a VDH Deluxe washer in one of mine and it worked great filling it about half full. For other types of soap that cannot be melted, you can break the washer and rub it with cheese. Then rub and press it down or just throw a washer with some water to stick it. If it's too big, rub some and tuck it down the sides. with a few drops of water. Either way, for the price, this is a luxurious addition to your razor that will add a classy touch to your ensemble.
