Buy this product for our cats to keep them warm in their outside kennel in the fall. Works well, all three cats enjoyed laying down with a cloth over it. The construction is very good and the cable section even more so since I have a cat that chews on things. Do what the instructions say - turn on the high power for a short time, then turn on the low setting. I left it on low overnight. Used only days/nights in the 40's. Not used in sub-zero temperatures. When I brought him inside, only one cat liked to snuggle up to him on the floor. I planted her weed and she really liked it. The surface is slightly slippery making it easy to clean with a damp cloth, but my cats prefer soft cloth or paper surfaces so they had to put something on them. I definitely recommend this product for indoor and outdoor pets.
