I received a batch (intact and undamaged) of 4 packs of these bulbs and the packaging was excellent, each bulb in bubble wrap in an individual box with 4 individual bulb boxes in a cardboard box. In terms of product quality, as mentioned in other reviews, these bulbs are more suitable for accent lighting than general room lighting. They give off a soft warm amber light accented by squirrel filament. They are dimmable which means they can be used with a rheostat switch. I use mine in a clear cylindrical glass lamp which has three switch positions - low (10w), medium (25w) and high (40w) and use it almost exclusively on the 10w level. In terms of warmth, as expected, they tend to get warm rather than hot like some other brands do. In summary, consider this a nice addition to your lava lamp as the light effect goes in the same direction.
