These things are big enough to be called minis. I have purchased this in multiple colors for dog/cat food, bird feed and other useful uses. Before these shovels, I dumped more bird seed into the feeders in the yard and spilled a lot in the process. I bought so many of these I threw one in the bird feeder and I'm glad I did, so much less mess and I don't have much feed in the whole country. However, dog food is the real test. I've tried dozens of these scoops, something in the dog food often causes them to break. Now I've been using them long enough to say that not only were they a lot cheaper to buy, but they are strong shovels that don't break easily. The only way to get something more is to buy one made of metal. I use them for dogs and cats, I don't measure specifically, just judging by the size of the bowl, but they hold up well without spilling over the sides, the square shape seems to help with that. Will buy again if I eventually break one but not sure how to go about it, maybe accidentally run over in the garage?
