Why did I give this lamp 5 stars? Because it was better than I expected. I've just started getting my nails done again after a 11-12 year hiatus thanks to Covid. I had sold all my old equipment and supplies by then, so now that I was starting from scratch I needed a new nail lamp. This UV lamp caught my interest and for $20, the price was right but I wasn't expecting much. After unpacking and carefully inspecting, I was seriously impressed with the quality and functionality of this nail lamp. LEDs are a huge improvement over my previous lamp which had screwed glass tubes. The light will automatically turn on when it detects something underneath and start the timer. We can also choose from preset countdown timers of 60, 30 and 10 seconds. The timer is shown bright and large on the LCD display at the top of the device. There's also a dual power button, but I'm not sure what it does as I haven't used it. The bottom of the lamp slides out so you can use it on your toes or for sanitation when the lamp is shared. There is also a practical carrying handle at the top. The lamp looks elegant and very modern. It works exactly as it's supposed to. I've used it to cure my polygel extensions and to cure various gel nail polishes and haven't had any problems. I have not felt any unusual heat when applying Polygel to my natural nails. Any feeling of warmth was very slight, as if not there at all. I 100% recommend this UV nail lamp if you are a home nail artist or self employed. You will not be disappointed
