I'm a runner. I also live in an area with no street lights. I use Petzel, Black Diamond and a Rayovac headlamp for running, so I have experience in this segment. All headlamps are good on their own, but this little 500 lumen headlamp is far superior to other headlamps for the following reasons: Wattage = 5/5. This thing is USB powered, meaning it's significantly lighter and less bulky than standard AA or AAA batteries. Plus, you'll always have full brightness because you can charge it before each run. Suitable = 4/5. I do with a stripe that was wider as it doesn't hug my head and wider stripes too. Functionality = 5/5. This is truly where that light shines. The buttons are straight and easy to use. Simply click through the modes using the two buttons to find the result you want. In comparison, the Black Diamond has touch-sensitive sides and doesn't always work and is difficult to switch between settings. Brightness = 5/5500 lumens for 60 minutes is sufficient and you most likely won't need this setting for that long. . Even the lowest setting is enough to work with the car without blinding the area.
