Well thought out design

I just finished assembling this thing so all those thoughts are fresh in my head. I give it 5 stars overall because it's a very thoughtful design, both in terms of pet safety and protection, and the owner's ability to clean and care for the interior. The instructions leave more to a little better. The illustrations are too small to show enough detail to ensure you put everything together correctly. For example, on the bottom left wing door, it is not clearly stated from which side the lock should open. As a result, we put it on the wrong side with a 50/50 chance and the door opened inwards, not outwards. The rest of the build went pretty smoothly. All screws are the correct length so none is visible after installation except the head. The screw positions have a little mark so you know where to center them so everything goes smoothly. Once assembled, I generally like it. Access to the cats is very easy thanks to the opening bottom door and roof. The design is well thought out and the cats have multiple entrances and exits, so another animal cannot pinch them without a chance to escape. A nice feature is that both the top and bottom trays can be easily removed by sliding them out so you can hose them down for cleaning. Overall I'm very happy with the design and my two street cats are loving it so far. They were curious the whole time while my son and I collected it. It's raining here right now, so I won't get the blankets ready just yet, but they're already inspecting the inside and trying to stay out of the rain.
