It is better to use a towel.
I used to have ironing pads and they are junk. I used it in my washing machine and it got so wet underneath I was afraid it would rust on my washing machine lid. So I put him at my table and he immediately crossed the finish line. It's better to use regular ironing cloth than this one. I've had it less than a month and have used it about 4 times and the silver pad is already losing color and wearing out.
