I have spent many hours searching the internet for information on better digital compact cameras. I went through all the specs and ratings and narrowed down the list to the best candidates. I finally settled on this one because it had to 1) take great pictures in a wide variety of conditions, 2) take great flash photos (most of our shots were taken indoors), and 3) have to be very fast (the previous camera had a lot in between pressing the shutter button and the camera actually taking the picture). Well, the camera struggles to get the exposure right when there's a bright object in view, even a very small one in the corner. Flash photography has extremely poor color reproduction and objects are either too bright or too dark. There is also a very significant shutter lag, which is surprising for a 2015 model. We're getting married at the end of this year. My wife already said that before the wedding we ABSOLUTELY need a camera. To be fair, the camera can take great outdoor shots as long as there are no bright objects in the frame. But during our recent vacation, we consistently got better photos and videos from our iPhone 5s than this camera. It's pretty sad.
