Just received and can confirm the high-pitched whine the unit makes at all settings except MAX. I contacted Finnex support, they replied that this is normal. Will be returned as soon as possible. UPDATE: I got a response from Finnex support and they said that whining is not normal despite an earlier response from support. They will send a replacement and I will update the review at that time. UPDATE #2: Received a replacement direct from Finnex yesterday. I can say that the replacement is silent and finally seems to be the product I thought I would buy. The previous version also seems to have had some trouble keeping time when in a 24/7 loop. Let's see if this version keeps up with the times better. UPDATE #3: The remote stopped working over the weekend. You must return the device for replacement. I'm tired of dealing with Finnex, so I'll just go back. Very disappointed with the quality of this product.
