Bought these for my 7 year old daughter, size 1 and they fit her perfectly with regular socks, haven't tried extra thick socks. However, we didn't need them. I wish she had something to keep her feet warm while she played outside in our cold North Dakota weather. they do the trick! You know you're getting good quality from Columbia and that hasn't disappointed you. Not once did she complain about being wet or cold. Excellent purchase!
