Short lived product in harsh weather conditions

Straps you step on broke in the first week you wore them to work in the snow. The edges of the fabric fray a little every day – long black threads that loosen under tension, but always stay somehow. The Velcro is also missing threads in some places, allowing some snow and dirt through the back. I understand why they are so affordable compared to other brands. They might hold up to the occasional hike or walk the dog, but for what I needed them for, they didn't last a week.
