I'm a lab coordinator at college and I ordered some of these bags for microbiology students to use to collect waste during lab work. They fit into 8" x 12" bags and are great for desk scraps. The pouches that come with them are suitable for a small stack of petri dishes (maybe around 8) or disposable loops, gloves, pipette tips etc. The holders themselves are very strong and stable even when the pouches are very full. The bags are very easy to install and remove. Two nice things about using them instead of jars: 1) To close bags, just pull the sides and remove the bag - no need to worry about students stuffing things into the bag and making it difficult to remove them from the drawer. Allowed to. 2) Because the bags don't shrink, they can hold more waste. We used old metal coffee tins for the same purpose - they're so much better!
