Great little lanterns. The material is sturdy and seems fairly scratch-resistant. The lanterns emit a bright white light and I haven't had one die yet! They are simple to use. There is no power switch. You simply pull the top portion (cap) of the lantern upward to engage the power. The bulb itself emits a constant stream of light, but you can regulate the amount of light you use by pulling the top up only as far as you wish. Only open it a little for less light or increase iy as you wish for more light.One lantern in the center of a camp lights up a 20'x20' area very easily. Strap or hang one by it's handle to a tree branch at each corner of your campsite about a foot above eye level and you will have no problem seeing anything! The light is visible through sparse forest at a distance of 100 feet or so. In dense forest, it could still easily be seen 20-30 feet away.The bottom of the lantern twists off so you can replace 3 AA batteries to power it. There is NO waterproof gasket or O-ring to prevent water from entering, but it has held up in rain and moisture with no water entering the space. I wouldn't test it out under water unless I had a spare light, though. The two handles are simple stainless steel and lift up and down with no issue. 550cord can tie around the handles (or a carabiner could be clipped on) to hang it from branches if you can't find a nub of a branch to slide the handles over. There are also four ridgles around the lantern that are the perfect size for 550cord to settle in if you want to tie it to a tree, packpack, car roof rack, etc.It seems very durable, but not indestructable. The lanterns are super lightweight and likely weight less than your titanium camping cookware set. The bulb has mirrored surfaces above and below it that help project and amplify the amount of light emitted when used. Great price for a pack of 4 lanterns!
