I like these over the longer short pants with cargo pockets that are on the market. If you hike these are great because they do not bind your leg when you are climbing over rocks. I had shorts like these 40 years ago and used them all the time when I was backpacking or hiking. When the last one finally fell apart I could not find them being sold anywhere.
