Difficult to install but works

These outdoor plugs look good but are difficult to set up. All you get is a plug and a very poorly written installation guide. Honestly I would return it but I have installed many different things for home automation. Installation: First you need to install the Smart Life app on your phone or iPad. You'll need to set up an account for this app - it's a pretty standard process. Once you have the Smart Life app, launch it and click "+โ€ to add a new device. The app will walk you through the whole process - basically you have to plug the FiVoice outlet into a power source and press the WiFi button on the FiVoice - hold it down for about 5 seconds. The LED on the connector flashes blue approximately three times per second. Follow the instructions in the app. Note: You must be connected to a 2.4 gigabyte network. Once connected, you can rename your device if needed and control it over Wi-Fi. To connect to Alexa you need the Alexa app and you need to install and activate the Smart Life skill in the Alexa app. Make sure you link your Alexa and Smart Life accounts. Then, with FiVoice enabled, ask Alexa to discover new devices. In my case, Alexa said she couldn't find new devices, but in fact the plug was recognized and available for Alexa to use/control. It might sound complicated, but it's pretty much a standard process. The instructions just given are sketchy.
