Review on XV U3 Xvive Ekkusubaibu XV U3 Maikurofon・dezitaruwaiyaresusisutemu by Major Callaham

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Super handy and great for non-professional setups

I'm a former professional live sound engineer (touring the world for over 15 years) but now only do occasional sound support for small local weddings, gatherings or rallies. I have suitable professional wireless setups (Shure and Sennheiser) but I chose the Xvive as my portable battery powered setup as they don't require AC and thought it would be great if it actually worked. If not, then simply return to Revain. So far I'm really impressed. Don't underestimate the convenience—battery operated, doesn't take up much space (or a large receiver), and it plugs into almost any microphone. The battery life is over 5 hours and is easy to charge with the included USB cable. I've used it twice with the sm58 - outdoors and at an indoor meeting - and it worked flawlessly both times. Didn't try to extend the range but at 30-40ft it worked great with a clean sound and fidelity seems good - I wouldn't record with it and wouldn't use it on a mission critical or professional live stage - but for low budget or amateur purposes - excellent.
