I'm a 54 year old male, 5ft 9in, 265lbs, about 3 years of kayaking experience. I've had the Yolo 12' Inflatable for a little over a year and have "outgrown" the weight limit. I bought this Tower Xplorer as a replacement for the Tower Xplorer due to the weight limit and the mostly positive reviews here. He arrived today. I definitely didn't want to try to inflate it with the hand pump that came with it, so I used my Sevylor (https://www.amazon.com/Sevylor-15-PSI-Water-Sport-Pump/dp/B00HN93D8M /ref=sr_1_1? ie=UTF8&qid=1498094315&sr=8-1&keywords=sevylor+pump) 12 volt pump for inflation. Time to 15psi was about 25 minutes - much longer than it takes to inflate the Yolo so will need to purchase a larger pump. Today wasn't the best day for his first flight! It was windy, there were a lot of waves and swells on the lake and the dinghy behaved as you would expect a dinghy to be in such conditions. swam to a cove surrounded by houses and trees with calmer conditions. I was only there for about 10 minutes but found it stable. It feels heavy in the water but I think it's due to the closed paddle which is quite thin and the face is too small for a paddleboard of this size. I hope to be able to pull it out again with my favorite paddle soon. It seems really well done. The fin mount feels a bit fiddly compared to the fin box on my yolo, but it does the job. There aren't enough D-rings, so I'm planning on getting some bungee cords. I will update this review as soon as I have a change to take it back out. Now I'm happy with them. 6/25/2017 Pulled out with a very light carbon fiber paddle. I need to try the tower paddle with another inflatable boat. The Xplorer is just a heavy surfboard, the price you pay for it has such a high weight limit. Still happy.
