Mediocre quality; Ceiling mount required

When I bought this product in May 2020 the advert said the pole didn't require a ceiling mount so I bought it. In fact, it was stated that it does not come with a ceiling support. because it is not needed. However, when I received the product, it came with a ceiling mount and instructions on how to install it. Definitely needed despite what the photos on the seller's page suggest. Now in June 2020 I see the ad has changed to say the ceiling prop is included. If you're looking for an L-shaped bar that doesn't require a ceiling mount, this isn't it. The rod hangs from the wall to the center of the rod, which allows the shower curtain to touch the center of the shower but not touch the walls. My setup is about 40 inches either way and the center of the pole is 2 inches lower than the wall supports. It is not possible to install a ceiling mount with a shower curtain and foil. So I had to cut the curtain and paneling to converge at the ceiling support. This increases the installation time. The spikes that cover the wall supports are not attached to the support so they basically "float" leaving a gap between the cover and the wall (see photo). In addition, the shiny lids have a brown ring in diameter, similar to traces of the manufacturing process (see photo). You can't see it from a distance, but you can see it when you hold it in your hand. The tube is meant to be very strong, but deforms easily when tightening the set screw that attaches the rod to the wall mount. You must be careful not to overtighten this set screw. Another problem with poor design is the wall mount itself. It has three screw holes that are used to attach the mount to the wall. Very important in the instructions is that the stop screw is at the bottom (at 6 o'clock) (this isn't necessary by the way, and the assembly would look better if the screw was at the top (at 12 o'clock) The stop screw should be exactly opposite the single hole and accurate be midway between the other two holes. This will make it easier to properly line up the support on the wall at the correct height off the ground, as the bottom two holes can be marked level (horizontally). This poor design feature results in additional installation time and frustration. In the end I wouldn't be buying and returning this item again if I hadn't put so much time into the install this as a temporary measure until I can completely redesign the bathroom so I can fix the installation/fix, I would definitely return the product for a full refund.
