I purchased these because I was tired of wet pillows, and my boyfriend protested my wet hair hahaI'd say they mostly soak up the excess water. But there is a little pass through onto the pillow. I think it's much more pleasant for me and my boyfriend, although I feel silly wearing it.I have a big head for a women, large hats - can't usually fit into hats at target, so this cap is not awesome in that respect. I end up pushing it up to relieve tension and it falls off in the night, but that's alright since it does it's job of soaking up the water. It would be great if they had different sizes, I'd buy again for large. Besides us large headed women, some men might likes these too. I think the bow could easily be snipped off. Anyone who wants to go to bed with wet hair without a soggy pillow would like the idea of these at least.I have curly hair, and clip up my curls to air dry at night. It's not too hard getting the hair into the cap once the hair is in clip(s), but it does seem to flatten the edges. In the morning I take a spray bottle of water and a little bit of hair cream mixture and spritz the curls and scrunch. That does the trick.
