It is well built and very reliable; The landing is perfect, there are no gaps and setbacks anywhere. I use the green ratchet strap you see in my photos for a number of reasons, but it's not needed at all for a better clasp or anything: (1.) This box isn't advertised as waterproof, but I cleaned and glued the edges thin coat of Molykote (hydrophobic sealer) and use tape for extra even pressure and so far it hasn't even leaked, and; (2) It's just an extra strap to have on hand when I need it. The only downside to installing the hood mount is that it limits the view a bit so I may end up moving the jack and the whole thing to the tailgate. One of the advantages of bonnet mounts is that you can spread the weight of the jack off the mounts somewhat, using just the right amount of felt to raise the box about 1/4 inch.
