I have had headphones for many years. I was a DJ when people actually ran radio stations (I'm speaking in the late 90's, in college), an audio engineer, an audio engineer, and I've been a serious audiophile since I first heard a Carver Silver 9t scream through some Snell B is early 90s. This. Things. Are. Unbelievable. I use Bryston BHA-1 on my main system, Woo/AE-9 on my PC and Sony 507 when I'm on the road. They're legitimately ripping apart everything but the Sony Z1R. They are also more comfortable than the Z1R. And honestly, add to that the hum of a jet engine, my running stove, my roaming dog, a slight breeze or whatever, and I think a $1,500 Delta is better in my pocket than an exceptionally small difference in sound quality. Even if you are on said plane and accidentally drop/exit it, it's not the end of the world. Truth. If you're looking for something under $1,000, buy it first. Take the rest of the money and do something else with it. There's very little or no color (perhaps a very faint mid-bass glow, very, very light), they're detailed, crisp, clear and really well built. The cable is the weakest part and honestly it's still better than what comes with UE (before Logitech, like everything else Logi touches, killed UE). buy you. You will not regret it.
