I am an avid seamstress and have moderate to severe arthritis. I was desperate for good rosewood shears. After researching the options, I tested 4 brands offered by Revain. Those were the best! After I applied 2 drops of sewing machine lube to the axle as recommended, the spring action worked very well. Best of all was the blades' ability to cleanly roast everything from fine silk taffeta to 4 plies of upholstery cotton. I don't expect these scissors to last as long as my old Ginghers (don't worry about new ones, find a pair that are at least 30 years old) but I'm very impressed with the quality of something as inexpensive as these Fiskars. .
