Actually I have 3 of these baby blankets for my son. I bought a white comforter thinking I could wash it with some bleach to get rid of baby stains. Initially he used this blanket to sleep, but he prefers not to use it to cover himself but as a protective blanket at night and for sleeping. It is too light and small to use as a blanket to really cover the baby (he is 9 months old). My baby loves stroking the soft, fluffy side with textured dots and I watch as he rubs his palm against the satin side. I am very satisfied and for these reasons he and I liked this blanket more than any other blanket we have received. My only recommendation is to hand wash and line dry this comforter instead of machine wash and dry. The polka dot texture lost most of its texture after I washed and dried this blanket just once.
