I love this glass bowl with lid for microwave ramen, reheat soups and frozen foods like chopped spinach in bags etc. The vented lid is a real bonus and the protective silicone ring fits snugly and keeps it sturdy ( and serves as a built in stand to hold my countertop/countertop securely). The opening in the lid is perfect for releasing steam, and I no longer have to fiddle with bowls with overturned saucers, paper towels, etc. to keep it from bubbling, burping and making a mess. 'Apothecary Jar' aesthetic from it. If I didn't use it to reheat in the microwave, I think it would look great in my kitchen as a cookie jar, candy jar, garland decoration, dried flower, etc. Anyway, the glass is beautifully made and the photos do it a little justice. It truly looks and feels like a piece of handcrafted art, not a service utensil. The lid is a bit loose, but that's not a disadvantage for me. It sits well and holds up when spun in the microwave, and the ball top is large enough to be easily grabbed with a towel. The handle is wide and deep, and there's plenty of room in and around it for a kitchen towel when you're transporting it (or putting food to bed). The size is quite large for a single serving of ramen, but I appreciate the extra space as I usually add things like shredded carrots, fresh herbs, etc. to prepare my meal. This is a fairly fragile piece, but not paper. It is easy to clean and seems to last forever with proper care. I am really very happy with this item. This is a high quality item that is unique and beautiful, but also practical.
