If you're new to muslin blankets, my review might help you. Muslin blankets are thinner and more breathable for the baby. They have multiple uses: towel, car seat cover, blanket, burp cloth, etc. I was reluctant to spend $20 on this because I can, so bought packs of 3 blankets for $20. but the space theme is a truly unique find. Softness is softness, but a softness unique to muslin blankets. If you take a small portion of it and rub it between your fingers, it will surely be felt. But if you take a handful and squeeze it, it becomes buoyant and fluffy. If you want a silky soft muslin blanket, look for one that says "bamboo". They feel like silk and I have a few, but I still like this one better :-)
