Looks Good, But Not Very Comfortable

This Taylor + Logan 30-inch silver metal barstool with back and wooden seat looks good but isn't very comfortable. It comes in a large box and is mostly assembled. To assemble, all that is required is to fasten the wooden seat to the base with two screws and two metal plates, and then fasten the back with 5 screws. The supplied Allen keys are required to install the screws and the whole thing takes less than 5 minutes, although the one provided Instructions are not the best. This is confusing at first because the base of the stool, which comes fully assembled, has an oval cut-out in the middle, so it's actually a full bar stool with no backrest, and you can omit the wooden seat if you want. You can even omit the backrest if you wish as this is clearly a bar stool that has been upgraded with screw holes to allow for the addition of a backrest. The oden seat mount makes more sense considering it wasn't originally intended as a wooden seat. I haven't had any issues with missing parts and once assembled the bar stool is very solid. No wobble. There was also no transport damage. So this is a metal stool with a silver finish that looks like galvanized aluminum. A clear coat is applied to the paint, which is easy to remove. There are rubber feet on the bottom to avoid scratching the floor. Underneath are foot rails, which feel perfectly solid. Under the seat are cross braces for added strength and stability. The back is all metal and leans back a bit. All corners are rounded so clothes don't get caught on anything. The wooden seat is cheap lightweight stained wood. All edges are nicely rounded. It attaches securely to the bar stool but isn't very attractive in my opinion. It also doesn't add any comfort to the seat. I ended up removing it because I think the stool will look better if it's all metal. Please note that the seat is quite small and narrow, but since it has no side panels, it is suitable for tall people. The metal construction makes it a good choice for indoor or patio use and it's a beautiful stool. I just find that the wooden seat looks oddly small and the wood isn't the best quality, making the chair look cheaper. However, this is a sturdy stool that looks good and you can omit the wooden seat if you wish. The current price of $76 is quite reasonable for this stool in my opinion.
