I bought a Braun Men's Electric Shaver Series 9 9390cc as a 2020 Valentine's Day gift because my husband wanted it that way. We didn't get it until early March. Every time we go to Costco he always checks out the Braun Series 8 which is the only series Costco has. So on VE day I asked him if I should buy him the razor he is testing. He said yes, but he's skeptical because the price is too high and it might not perform well compared to his current $50 razor. The Series 9 is almost double the price of the 8, but it's a gift from my husband, so I wanted to impress. Oh! his skepticism was confirmed. He complained and was not at all happy with the performance. Aesthetically, the razor has a nice design. For travel, it is perfect for travel. The battery life is also good. But what good are all these functions if the shaver can't do what it was designed for, a CLEAN SHAVE. It's like having a phone that can't ring. My husband has not been able to shave cleanly since we bought this razor. He figured he might just have to take it down and get used to it, but to no avail. After 3 weeks he gave up and went back to his $50 razor. I'm so mad I spent over $300 on this aesthetically pleasing crap. Now the razor is back in its box and is just a decoration on our shelf. Not sure if it can be returned. Braun needs to get its engineers to focus more on performance than design. It takes almost 15 minutes to shave downhill, which is far too long, especially if you need a quick shave before a meeting. If you purchase this product be aware that you are getting a very expensive, aesthetically pleasing piece of junk that cannot give the sign of a close shave.
