I had an aluminum large folding table before that had a frame that was fragile. During a downpour, I put pressure in the wrong direction and snapped a bolt off and ruined it. So I chose this because the red plastic pieces that slide into locking place let you know easily when and how to fold the table. This one is actually stronger as well because the legs go straight down rather than criss-crossing. We put 5 gallons of water, dishes, and lots of other things on this without worry. Holds up fine. We use it as a utility table, but when we don't have a good picnic table, it doubles as a dinner table easily.No comment on weight. for me, the heavier the better. I'd prefer if it were heavier. It is fairly light.People have said the first time you try to get it back into the bag is annoying, and they are right. But after the first time, you'll realize what you were doing wrong and it won't be a problem. Just be patient the first time.
