Review on 🧊 Insulated Protective Cover for Alpicool Portable Refrigerator: T50 Transit Bag Accessory by Eric Avina

Excellent fit and quality

Ideal for Alpicool T36. Features cutouts for wheels, handles and vents so you never have to take the case off. The top has both a zipper and a Velcro closure. All sides and top are radiant and foam insulated. Underneath was only a radiant heater. Looks solid and well made. I like that the control panel has a transparent screen so you can still see and control things. The only downside is that the USB connector doesn't have a separate cutout, but you can probably route the cable through the handle hole. It doesn't really matter to me as I probably won't be using USB much. It's a little pricey, but other than that I have no complaints. It's hard to say how effective the insulation is, but with a starting temperature of 50Β°F in the fridge and 34Β°F in the freezer, the temperature dropped to the set temperature of 38Β°F and -4Β°F in less than an hour . I've never seen him fall so fast. UPDATE: I did a test to see how much this increases the effectiveness of Alpicool. I set it to one zone and 10F (at a constant ambient temperature of 67 degrees). I put in some frozen ice packs and ran the freezer for about 36 hours to get a consistent internal temperature. I then ran it for 23 hours with the lid closed and measured 270 Wh of energy during that time (an average of 11.7 per hour). I then removed the insulation and immediately turned it on again for another 24 hours and measured 300Wh (average 12.5). So about 6% less or about 1.5 hours more running time for 24 hours with the lid closed.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Fading color
