Review on ๐Ÿงฅ Caterpillar Men's Heavy Insulated Parka: Reliable Warmth in Regular and Big & Tall Sizes by Eduardo Purewal

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Kept me warm on the tower for eight hours in windy temperatures of 35-40F.

I have had this jacket for a year now. This is a versatile coat. I usually wear size XL but others have said this coat is a size bigger so I ordered large and it fits perfectly even over a sweatshirt. It's not too heavy, but keeps you warm in almost any weather. If I get too hot, I can open the vents on the sleeves or just open the front. However, this is definitely not a jacket. When the weather is good, it gets too hot. I like the buttons that close the zipper. Two things I don't like: 1) The pockets have vertical holes making it difficult to get your hands in. If they had a little incline it would be better. 2) The hood has a drawstring which is good but there is no way to fill/hide the drawstring. So you get these two loops that I was holding on to earlier. I worked on the tower yesterday. I was up the tower for over 8 hours in temperatures below 40F and gusty winds. With the zip and hood at the top I was decently warm. My hands and feet eventually got cold, but my upper body was nice and warm and the wind didn't bother it at all. The extra face protection that the top of a coat can provide has proven to come in handy. I checked and this coat seems to be consistently selling for around $62 (I bought it for $61 last year). It's worth the price.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Periodicity
