I don't think these containers are really tight - or maybe just the ones I received aren't tight? I decided to keep coffee grounds in it (which was my fault - I didn't examine the coffee grounds) and after a while my coffee grounds started smelling like ammonia and sticking together as if moisture got in. I'm not sure if I stored the coffee grounds for too long, if the jars weren't airtight, or if the jars just didn't fit in the coffee grounds. but I won't take the risk of continuing to use it as my storage solution's repository. If you're a dumbass like me looking for an aesthetic coffee storage solution, don't choose it. Take a regular stainless steel coffee grounds container.
